Will it hold a large canvas?
Within reason — the support adjusts for canvas height, and a standing easel is happiest with the sizes it was scaled for. Very large or heavy boards want a heavier H-frame studio easel.
I paint sitting down — is a tall easel wrong for me?
No. The canvas support slides down, so a floor easel works seated or standing; the height is there for when you want the whole canvas above the table line.
