How do I snap a segment off safely?
Extend one segment past the holder, grip it with pliers or with the snapper on the end cap if the knife has one, and bend it away from your face — over a bin, not the floor. Never with bare fingers.
Can it cut rope or a zip tie?
Yes, against a hard surface and cutting away from your hand. What it should not do is stand in for a kitchen knife — blade oil and cardboard dust don't belong near food.
